Fab Lab UPM: guided visit

The 26 of September the members of AETEL will visit the facilities for digital fabrication of the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid. There we will be explained how to use (and we hope they let us use) computer controlled industrial machinery. We will be shown the differences between subtractive, abrasive, casted and additive manufacturing.

The Fab Lab (Fabrication Laboratory) is a workplace where tools are provided for personal use. It’s a space for production and experimentation used by DIY philosophy and makers where limits are placed by one itself.

The machines we will found there are:

  • Computer controlled laser cutter
  • 2D table cutter with vacuum table
  • Vinyl cutter to make flexible circuits and antennas
  • Precision milling machine to make three dimensional molds.
  • 3D Scanner
  • 3D extrusion printer for ABS or PLA

More info in the FabLab web.

If you’d like to assit don’t hesitate to contact us.

EDIT: We added some pictures of the visit.
